Pub British Columbia
Voted one of the best Irish pubs outside of Ireland in 2015. We here at the Irish Times embrace the Irish culture with food for the body, drink for the spirit, and music for the soul. We pride ourselves on providing our guests with a true Irish experience since opening our doors in 2004.
Our building was first home to the Bank of Montreal, built in 1894 by Sir Francis Rattenbury. It was Rattenbury’s first design in the chateau style stone work used 10 years later on his development of the iconic Empress Hotel. Today within our walls you will discover fires crackling, rich dark wood, Victorian-etched glass doors and windows, shining gold chandeliers and a fascinating collection of memorabilia.
The traditions of Ireland have been extended to our menu, which has been developed by the philosophy of food for the body, offering Irish classics like bangers & mash, shepherd’s pie and our famous Irish stew. We incorporated the most delicious pub-style cravings like our award-winning lamb burger,
thin crust pizza, and creamy seafood chowder. We are also proud to offer freshly shucked oysters and many other west coast favourites.
Enjoy a Drink for the spirit with a perfectly poured pint of Guinness or savour Victoria’s best Irish coffee. We also boast over 40 taps from local craft breweries and around the globe. We have the largest selection of Irish whiskeys in Victoria as well as an amazing wine list featuring some of British Columbia’s best grapes.
Music for the soul is heard 7 nights a week, from East and West coast Celtic to blues, classic rock and more. Starting at 9pm nightly, there’s a genre for everyone.
We look forward to greeting you with a warm welcome in the heart of downtown Victoria. Come for the Guinness, stay for the Craic.
